Currently, we are searching for a Retail Buyer Lead:

The Retail Buyer Lead is responsible for curating an enjoyable and enticing shopping experience for our customers. This person is responsible for building sales and supporting the Byland Garden Centre strategic plan by providing outstanding products to our customers. 

 

Job duties include but are not limited to:

​

Communicating with vendors. Research, selection, ordering and verification of confirmations of all garden accessories, gifts, and hard good products. Working with management on layout, location and display of all garden goods, gift products, and other hard goods. Collaborating with appropriate team members with ordering and scheduling of deliveries based on seasonal and operating demands. 

​

This is a permanent, full-time position (32 hours per week) hybrid role requiring presence across multiple locations, and an ability to work remotely 1-2 days per week.

Currently, we are seeking an assistant to our Nursery Yard Lead: 

This person will be a key support person for managing the nursery yard which includes perennials, trees, shrubs, evergreens, roses, fruit trees and small berry bushes.

 

Job duties include but are not limited to: 

Assist customers with product inquiries, requests and orders. Generate sales by advising customers on selection of plants, methods of planting, cultivation, and proper care.

In conjunction with department lead, they will stock, organize plant material, and merchandise yard and displays.

 

Qualifications & Skills: 

Experience working in a garden centre, growing operation, nursery, or for a landscaping company is an asset. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
